Blackberry Pie

We're back in Bellingham now.  Oma and Opa Bergen are here with us too.

Dorothea and Drew live right on Lake Whatcom, and we've been kayaking a bunch.

Opa kept busy watering the plants and washing the car.

Greta just keeps busy keeping Oma busy.

And just like back home, she is hard to keep away from the dishwasher.

On our way home from the dog park this morning (Max befriends dog owners so he can play fetch with their pets), we spotted wild blackberries, ripe and ready for harvest.  A two-pronged approach to picking, with some of us on foot from above and some of us in kayaks from below, we managed to bring home quite the haul.

Enough, in fact, for two blackberry pies.

Mama and Papa had another "date night" tonight (the picture is from the first one last week in Whistler, though).

They made sure to leave room after dinner for some dessert, though.
